My first time attending the career fair was definitely interesting. It was a new experience for me. I realized you kinda need to be a bit prepared before going. All of the employers were looking for individuals that were able to speak up and make conversation. For me, that was hard because I tend to get really shy and quiet. Most of the careers and organizations there were looking for individuals in IT, Business, Engineering, and Physcology. There were very few organizations for my major, Health Services. I was really scared and intimidated to go up and talk to the employers but I spoke to three organizations. The first one was Maxim Healthcare Services. I started off by greeting them and gave a little introduction about myself. I stated my name, major, and graduation date. One of the employers asked me if i was a Sophmore and I told her I was a Junior. I then asked how their typical day is in their career and she stated how she is a healthcare recruiter. Healthcare recruiters ensure that an individual is paired with a medical organization that best fits their needs and their organization. The type of textual genres these employers use on a daily basis are reviewing resumes and doing interviews. The second organization I spoke to was Universal Health Services. The employers here were very nice. One of the employees asked to see my resume and why I wanted an internship. I stated that I want to build my knowledge and gain more experience. He asked me if I was bilingual and I shared that I speak fluent English and Arabic. He immediately went to his coworker and told her that I was bilingual and they need more bilingual people to fit their marketing intern. Their organization was mainly reaching out for IT students, so I recommended to my friend to talk to them as well. UHS is one of the nation's biggest hospital management companies and they deal with all majors. For this firm, they use multiple types of business writing. The third organization i spoke to was Catalent Pharma Solutions. Catalent Pharma Solutions is the world's best drug development, delivery, and supply partner for health products. One of the employees here explained how they their system works. I asked if they had any internships open for the summer but none fit my major.
